"Si étnica y culturalmente somos un pueblo mestizo, independientemente del color de la piel, la presencia de genes ancestrales europeos, africanos y nativo-americano-asiáticos en nuestro genoma es una prueba de que biológicamente también lo somos, y quizás lo sea todo el género humano... La 'raza' es un concepto construido socialmente, con un sistema de estratos no argumentado por diferencias naturales o biológicas", afirma la doctora Beatriz Marcheco.
