Brasil quiere contratar médicos extranjeros

El canciller brasileño, Antonio Patriota, afirmó este jueves que la contratación de médicos extranjeros para trabajar en zonas rurales y alejadas de las ciudades tiene un carácter humanitario. Se trata de una decisión del gobierno federal que tiene como objetivo mejorar los servicios públicos de salud, por lo tanto se basa en una acción humanitaria, resaltó Patriota en una audiencia pública celebrada en la Comisión de Relaciones Exteriores de la Cámara de Diputados.

Yarisley Silva continúa al frente de Liga de Diamante

La pertiguista cubana Yarisley Silva continuó este jueves al frente de la Liga de Diamante-2013, pese a finalizar segunda en la reunión atlética de Estocolmo, con marca de 4.59 metros. Silva, subcampeona olímpica en Londres-2012 y bronce mundial en Moscú-2013, llegó a 11 puntos en la Diamond League y ahora aventaja en dos a la alemana Silke Spiegelburg, ganadora este jueves aquí, con 4.69.

Cuanto más enganchado esté al tabaco más gordo se pondrá cuando lo deje

Los fumadores más enganchados tienen más probabilidades de engordar al dejar el tabaco, según un estudio japonés publicado en la revista PLoS ONE. En promedio, en los tres años que siguen a la renuncia al tabaquismo los hombres engordan 2,8 kilogramos y las mujeres, 3,8. El 10% de los exfumadores acumulan más de 13 kilogramos. No obstante, en los próximos 7 a 8 años la mayoría suele volver a su peso inicial.
