Escuché a un comentarista alabar el regreso a la Serie del Caribe y apostillar, “de la que nunca debimos haber salido”. ¿Qué significa semejante afirmación?, ¿alguien cree que no hicimos lo correcto al apostar por el amateurismo? Nuestros peloteros, claro que son profesionales, y deben ser remunerados en correspondencia con su rendimiento, pero siempre han jugado con espíritu amateur, y eso nos hace superiores. Conservar ese espíritu, en las aguas turbulentas del profesionalismo (término que no equivale a profesionalidad ni a oficio), es un reto que debe afrontar el deporte cubano.

Los turistas prefieren regresar a Cuba

De acuerdo con encuestas aplicadas por el Ministerio de Turismo de Cuba, el nivel de satisfacción de los turistas extranjeros que visitan la nación caribeña sobrepasa el 90 por ciento, así como más del 40 del total son repitentes. Esos parámetros constituyen una muestra fehaciente del nivel de posicionamiento del país, que apostó por el turismo a sabiendas de que la faena no sería fácil. Durante los primeros 40 días de esta campaña invernal 2013-2014 en Cuba ya se reportaba un alza de más del 6 por ciento en el flujo de viajeros.
