Nadadora Diana Nyad: Quinta tentativa entre Cuba y Florida

La nadadora estadounidense Diana Nyad se lanzará al mar abierto el próximo fin de semana desde el Club Náutico Internacional "Hemingway", de La Habana, para intentar por quinta vez cruzar a nado el mar que separa a Cuba de Florida (EEUU), un año después de que fallara en ese propósito. Nyad, de 64 años, está previsto que llegue mañana viernes a Cuba para iniciar el recorrido el próximo sábado si las condiciones del tiempo se lo permiten.

Cuba festejará medio siglo de Industriales

Un partido entre glorias del béisbol de Cuba será el plato fuerte de la celebración en la isla por los 50 años del club Industriales, el más ganador y popular del país, anunciaron este jueves sus organizadores. "Un extenso programa de actividades están planificadas para celebrar el medio siglo de la fundación del equipo capitalino Industriales", entre ellas "un encuentro entre las glorias de ese deporte en la isla", anunció René Bocourt, portavoz de la Dirección de Deportes en La Habana.

Consejo de Seguridad de ONU: Sin conclusiones sobre Siria

Los cinco miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU se reunieron hoy por segundo día consecutivo para abordar la situación en Siria, aunque no emitieron ninguna conclusión sobre lo abordado. La reunión fue convocada por la delegación de Rusia, de acuerdo con diplomáticos, y tras cerca de una hora de discusiones ninguno de los representantes permanentes presentes en la reunión emitió ningún comentario a la prensa.
