Los cajeros automáticos ya llegaron, al menos, a todas las cabeceras de provincias del país, además de a municipios como Mariel, San Antonio de los Baños, Cárdenas, Trinidad, Morón, Puerto Padre, Moa y Manzanillo, como parte del proceso de crecimiento de este servicio en Cuba. Acerca de este particular y de incógnitas de la población respecto a las prestaciones de los cajeros, versa la entrevista a Alberto Javier Quiñones Betancourt, ingeniero en telecomunicaciones y director general de servicios informáticos del Banco Central de Cuba.
